Agribition for Students

Agri-Ed Showcase
Held during Agribition from November 19 – 23rd 2007, the Agri-Ed showcase features interactive displays for elementary students. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a mock livestock auction, daily demonstrations, quiz shows, an environmental agricultural board game, a cooking club and of course view over 2,000 head of world class livestock.

Agriculture in the Classroom and the Agri-Ed Showcase committee are excited to announce the first-ever AGmazing Race for Grade 7 & 8 students. Students will follow a series of clues and navigate around the Agribition grounds locating different stations. At each station they will have to answer a question or complete a challenge in order to get a piece of the puzzle. All classes that complete the puzzle will be entered in a draw to win a prize.

Career Expo
AITC-SK supports the promotion of career opportunities within the agriculture industry and is pleased to be a part the Career Expo held during the Canadian Western Agribition. From November 19 - 22 high school students across Saskatchewan have the chance to take part in a career exploration experience.

Students will have the opportunity to meet people working in the broad and diverse field of agriculture from animal health technicians to engineers to marketing specialists. The morning will consist of an introduction and three sessions featuring professionals in the sectors of Animal Science, Bio-resources and Technology and Trades

The sessions will provide opportunities for students to communicate directly with entrepreneurs and experts in their fields. Information provided will include job descriptions, what changes they have seen in their jobs, what courses are important for students to take, other jobs available to someone with that background, transferable skills etc. The sessions are designed to introduce students to new and unique career opportunities that could lead to them establishing their future in Saskatchewan.
