Marilynn Canitz, Farm Animal Council
Marilynn and her husband, Dr. Rick Omer, live near Asquith. They own a veterinary practice on their farm as well as raising commercial Black Angus cattle and Canadian Warmblood sport horses. Marilynn has had a life-long involvement in agriculture: she was raised on a mixed farm and is a Saskatchewan 4-H alumnus. Academically, she has her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Guelph, where she studied the human-animal bond.
Marilynn works as an English riding instructor from her farm. She also does contract work for AgriBiz Communications Corp., a company which provides management and communication services to agriculture organizations including the Farm Animal Council of Saskatchewan Inc.
