President - Darcy Pawlik – Ag-West Bio
Darcy is currently the Vice President of Life Sciences and Regulatory Affairs at Ag-West Bio, an industry association tasked with growing Saskatchewan ’s life sciences sector through investment, mentorship, path finding and communication. Darcy has been with Ag-West since mid 2006 starting as Communications Director and quickly working his way up to Director of Regulatory Affairs utilizing past University experience and has recently been promoted to Vice president. Darcy’s daily responsibilities range from troubleshooting through Canada ’s complicated regulatory system, helping companies find financing, overseeing various projects run through Ag-West and helping stakeholders identify opportunities in the marketplace for their products.
Darcy completed an undergraduate degree in Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan while being employed and advised by Dr. Geoff Hughes. He moved on to complete a Masters in Science in Applied Microbiology studying molecular genetics under George Khachatourians. Today Darcy is active undertaking many initiatives in the life sciences community trying to further successes in Saskatchewan and bring new opportunity to the province. Part of what makes him a successful leader in the community is the time he takes to listen to concerns and makes every effort to bring about positive change. Darcy is said to be the go to guy for Saskatchewan ’s bio-economy.
