Position: Interim Executive Director
Term: April 8, 2013 – May 30, 2014 (maternity leave)
Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per annum (potentially negotiable)

Agriculture in the Classroom Sask Inc. (AITC-SK) is a registered charity that works to connect kids and agriculture through innovative, curriculum-based programs and resources. The AITC-SK mandate reaches across Saskatchewan and is strongly focused on experiential learning. Under the direction of the Board the Executive Director will carry out the following activities:

Carry out assigned tasks in line with the Board’s strategic plan and guided by the goals and objectives of AITC-SK.

Carry out a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure a strong financial base for core operations and program delivery. This will include managing annual sponsors, charitable donations, fundraising events, as well as foundation and government grants.

Establish and maintain relationships with any individuals and organizations that may provide a benefit to AITC-SK including but not limited to funding partners, educational consultants, resource experts and the media.

Enhance the public image of AITC-SK among members, partners, educators, and the citizens of Saskatchewan.·

Supervise AITC staff of direct supervision and periodic reporting.

Oversee program/project execution and evaluation based on the AITC strategic plan and in line with the approved budget.
Skills and Education Required:

Post secondary degree in agriculture, education, business, management or related field

Strong financial and program management skills

Strong oral and written communication skills
-
Excellent interpersonal skills to assist in relationship building

Skills in fundraising and donor relations

Experience in successfully leading a small team

Ability to multi-task and prioritize

Agriculture experience an asset
