James Perkins - Interim Executive Director

James was born and raised in Saskatoon. After completing his B.A. (History) and B. Ed., James has taught in a variety of rural, urban and community schools grades 3-12. Having experienced student empowerment through hands-on agricultural and gardening activities, he's excited to be supporting AITC's innovative endeavors. James and his spouse Nicole are proud parents to their 19 month old daughter, Tori. In his free time, James is active in gardening, swimming, community building and enjoying the outdoors.

Karen Enns - Programs Manager


Karen's family operates a dairy farm and custom silage operation near Warman with her husband Phil. She is the proud and busy mother of 4 children and her enthusiasm for agriculture is a hit with the students!  Karen loves working with Agriculture in the Classroom and has been with the organization since January, 2006.

Adrianne Begg School Garden Coordinator
 

Adrianne was raised in Saskatoon. She has her B.SC. in Land Use and Environmental Studies from the University of Saskatchewan , and is passionate about educating youth to connect with the earth through school gardens.  Adrianne enjoys working with teachers from all over the province and is excited to implement our Little Green Thumbs, Greenscapades, and the Summer Garden Program this year!

Christine Meachem Office Manager
 

Christine was raised on a mixed farm near Carrot River , Saskatchewan.  Christine recently graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a B.A. in History and a B.F.A. in Studio Art. She enjoys both art and photography in her spare time. Christine works full time and manages the accounting for Agriculture in the Classroom.  Christine has been with Agriculture in the Classroom on a part time basis since the summer of 2006.

Jessie Best - Greenscapades Garden Manager
 

Jessie grew up mostly in Christopher Lake, where she spent a great deal of her time hiking, skiing, and generally being anywhere but inside. Since moving back to Saskatoon in 2007, she has been active in the community promoting urban gardening. In August she completed her Permaculture Design Certificate, and is very excited to be putting that knowledge to work for the Greenscapades program!

Raven Brousseau - Summer Office Student
 

Raven was born in Saskatoon and has lived there her entire life. She is currently in the midst of her B.Comm. Finance and B.Sc. Mathematics at the University of Saskatchewan. Raven enjoys physical activity, especially dance, through which she has the opportunity to teach and inspire kids. She loves spending free time at her cabin with her family. Raven is very excited to be back for her second summer at Agriculture in the Classroom!

Shereen Kukha-BrysonSummer  Garden Program Leader

Shereen was born and raised in Saskatoon where she learned the skill of gardening from her mother.  Shereen enjoys traveling, walking her dog, and exploring cultural diversity in her area.  Shereen recently graduated from the University of Ottawa in Anthropology and Indigenous Studies.  She is enrolled in the University of Victoria where she plans to continue her studies this fall.  We've really enjoyed Shereen's enthusiasm for gardening.

Audrey AamodtLittle Green Thumbs Program Manager

Growing up on a farm near Kelliher, SK fostered Audrey’s avid love for the prairies. Her craving to appreciate Life and Earth matches her desire to encourage others to develop a sense of place, a deep connection with natural surroundings & home culture. Following her five year career as a secondary math & biology teacher, Audrey completed a Master of Arts in Environmental Education and Communication. In 2011, she then began an urban, Community-Supported Agriculture program in Regina, as she believes in the potential for Environmental Education within local food markets. Audrey is delighted to support the Little Green Thumbs program, bringing her passion for ecological education through gardening & food.

Sara Shymko  - Executive Director 
Sara was raised on and still actively participates on a mixed farm near Jasmin, Saskatchewan. She is a graduate from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Economics. Her background led her to Uganda, East Africa where she worked for two years with rural youth groups. When she's not working Sara keeps busy playing hockey and football, coaching pole vault and volunteering at her church.  Sara will be back in 2012.
